Rice farm in Bali

In the mountainous areas of Bali, precisely in the village of Wongaya Gede, I people still plant crops in a simple way, this is also due to the hilly terrain.
Like planting rice, farmers still use traditional tools and a simple irrigation system, and that is what is called Subak.  the distribution of water is very orderly with this system.  water flows from paddy to paddy and all farmers can use it, but sometimes problems arise during the dry season, but the problem can be solved in a simple way as well.  Likewise with land management they still use plows and buffalo, and of course on the small and terraced they must use hoes and sickles.  maintenance and fertilization is still simple, they mow the grass and clean the weeds and re-use it for compost.  most of the rice they harvest is used for family consumption.
They only sell a small portion of the harvest.  the system in this area is very unique, really fascinated me.
